The Prodigal Patient / Chiropractor
Presented by Dr. Bob Crystal
We have heard of
the “prodigal son”, who asked his father for his inheritance then went
out to live the high life until he was broke and destitute. He finally
decided to go back home, thinking that maybe his father would let him
work as a servant. But upon returning home, his father ran out to greet
him, and prepared a great feast in honor of his return. This story has to
do with us returning to God after we are led astray. It also shows the
great love and acceptance back that we get from Him when we do return. I
believe that if we apply this wisdom to our lives and to our practices
then we will be successful.
For our practice it means
having that great welcoming love for the patient. Not just the ones who
come every week for years, but for the ones who are led astray by a lack
of understanding, or discipline, or any other reason. Can we run out and
greet them? Can we show them what an honor it is for them to be back? If
we can, we are following the example laid out in this story. They will be
cared for by us with love and acceptance, and it will be a successful
relationship. We have gotten our feelings of insecurity out of the way.
Feelings that they didn’t listen to me, they don’t respect me, it’s all
about me. Believe me when I tell you, I have been there. But I have come
back to God and his word, and so am making it more about Him, and them
(the patient). And this is making me successful, and it will do the same
for you.
And so this is a story about
the prodigal patient, and the prodigal chiropractor. Just as we treat
them with that love and respect, we too are treated with equal measure.
It applies to our practice, and to our family, and to all of our
relationships, especially the greatest relationship that we can have, our
relationship with God.
The Chiropractic Lifestyle
by Dr. Bob Tarantino

Look at yourself...yes,
really look at yourself. Would you go to you for Chiropractic care?
If you needed help in guiding and directing your life to achieve a
fulfilled life both spiritually and physically would you really go to you
? Be honest! I think that many of you reading this article
would not be able to answer yes. So, now you have a job to do to
change for the better...or you can stop reading this article because you
don't want to be reminded of your shortcomings and you
want to continue to be in denial about the truth about you.
It's all about you.
If your ready for change support a group or groups where you can learn
how to change and achieve the way to live The Chiropractic Lifestyle. New
Beginnings Weekends can serve that purpose.
If you do change you will be more successful in life. That includes your
family and practice life as well.
It's all about you.
So what will you learn?
First you'll learn that it's not easy to live this lifestyle. It requires
sacrifice, work and determination.
No gimicks...just diligence on your part.
It's all about you.
Second, you'll learn that you must have the support of your entire
family...you must all be on the same
page...living the lifestyle. If they are not supportive it is up to you
to educate them to a different perspective on life and health.
It's all about you.
Third, you'll learn that it's not only the Chiropractic philosophy that
is needed in your Chiropractic Lifestyle.
Natural living, appearing neat and well maintained, disciplining yourself
to exercise regularly, eat properly, remain
spiritual and think positively are all part of it.
It's all about you.
Finally, you'll discover that you must be an example of that lifestyle to
everyone you come in contact with. Speak your
truth to your friends, family and of course your patients. All of them
should look to you as a roll model. Your influence will change their
lives forever. It's a big responsibility. Are
you ready for the challenge...or will you continue to be a mediocre
example of what you could have been.
Come join us at the next New
Beginnings Meeting to start your journey towards your change.
It's all about you.
