A Wonderful Life
Presented by Kevin Donka, D.C.
I’m
sure you are familiar with the classic movie “It’s a Wonderful Life”
starring Jimmy Stewart. It’s the story of a man who gets a chance to see
what the world would have been like without him. An angel named Clarence
gives him this opportunity and it totally changes everything about how he
views the present circumstances of his life. After watching a movie like
that, most of us tend to ask ourselves what the world would be like
without us in it. It’s a very interesting thing to think about. It tends
to help us be more grateful for most of the things in our lives, and it’s
kind of fun to think about in general.
Even though most of us have
probably wondered at one time or another what the world would be like
without us in it, I suspect that very few of us have ever really taken
the thought seriously, or at least we haven’t taken it seriously for very
long.
But… what if we did?
What if several times per
day, we stopped and asked ourselves, “How am I affecting the world right
now with each of my thoughts, my words and my actions? “ B.J. Palmer,
D.C. once said, “We never know how far reaching something we may think,
say or do today will affect the lives of millions tomorrow.”
The reason I am discussing
this is that most of us will go into the office today or tomorrow and
encounter one or more people we would rather not spend time with. You
know the type; Overweight, dirty, smelly, terrible lifestyle, sick all
the time, complainer, doesn’t pay his bill, doesn’t ever seem to “get it”
no matter how many times you tell him the story…need I go on?
How will you approach this
person tomorrow? Will you look at him with disgust, sorrow or some other
negative judgment? Will you simply stay completely neutral about your
feelings for her? Or, will you see in him what he isn’t currently
demonstrating to you? Will you see the oak tree in the acorn? Might she
be one of your greatest teachers? Can you love him for who he really is
and allow him the space to continue his own journey of self-discovery?
Keep in mind that you do
not define another with your judgment; you only define yourself as
someone who needs to judge.
The truth is, you have a
choice each time you encounter another. You may use vision or
judgment…but never both of these. And, the energy you give will
definitely affect that person in one way or another. The question is, HOW
will you affect this person and his or her world?
Might the love you give to
this woman be the only love she receives from anyone that day, including
herself? Might your touch be the only touch he receives from another
human being that day? Might your adjustment be the force that releases
the spark of life that will begin the process of helping him remember who
he is and why he is here?
Can you remember that
having conscious awareness of whom and what we are requires a clear
neurological connection?
The fact is, his life is
affected by your life and your adjustment does make a difference in his
life. You know this deep in your heart and you don’t need an angel to
show you what it would be like if you weren’t here to make the
adjustment!
There is nothing
more important than this…NOTHING!
I once heard a definition of
hell. “Hell is when, at the end of your life, the person you are meets
the person you could have been.” Guess what? It is never too late
to be the person you could have been!!!!
Most of the world’s religions
agree that there will be two questions we all must answer at the end of
our lives.
1. How did you contribute?
2. Compared to your own potential, and no one else’s, how well did you
do?
If we can see Universal
Intelligence in ourselves and in everyone we meet, we can do nothing but
give our best. If we understand that we are all in process and we are all
at different points along the way, we can love everyone right where they
are and have faith that they will take whatever they need from each and
every situation they encounter. And, we can have faith that when we free
Innate, people have the best possible chance of continuing their journey
in the direction of their ultimate destiny, rather than spending time on
some alternate path.
Make a promise to yourself
and the world today that you will never again live your life in such a
way as to make you wish for a second chance. Remember, we never
know what our final act will be.
Will you live up to
your potential today?
