CCE (AKA Scrooge) is Trying to Force All Schools to Teach PT

The CCE originally was an organization designed to accredit chiropractic programs in accordance with their mission statement. This meant that they were not supposed to tell the schools what to teach. Their job was to assure that what a school was teaching was done in a professional manner.

Recently, all this is changing.  In what could be called a "Scrooge" type of move so close to the holidays, CCE has been increasing its control over chiropractic education. In their latest move they are attempting to force chiropractic colleges to include physical therapy as part of their required core curriculum. This stands in stark contrast to the long standing missions at Palmer, Sherman, and Life.

The following is a letter from Sherman President, Jerry L. Hardee, Ed.D., asking for your help and support:

Once again the proposed mandating of the inclusion of physiotherapy in the curriculums of CCE accredited institutions is being placed on the agenda of the CCE Board of Directors for its January meeting. Sherman College, of course, is vigorously opposing in such mandate.

In fact, my letter to Dr. Little, Chair of the CCE Board is notification that Sherman will take legal action to protect the autonomy of its mission. While Sherman College is supportive of a strong and fair accreditation process, any action by the accrediting body in support of special interest groups which alters the mission of any college will, and should be opposed.

Thus, this communication is to urge you to write letters to Dr. Little and members of the CCE Board opposing any such action. The board meets on January 12, 2004 so time is of the essence. I am attaching a sample letter for your use and it can be altered to suit your own thoughts and writing style. Again, as always, we appreciate your support. Happy Holidays!

"Highway 2 Health"  Webcast Radio Show

Highway to Health is a radio show that is designed to be broadcast on the Internet.  Tens of thousands of people already listen to these webcasts over the Internet. The numbers are growing steadily. 

This show is co-hosted by a chiropractor, Dr Sal Martingano.  The shows are about health, wellness and chiropractic. Now You Know has included these shows as part of our website service so that the patients of our subscribing doctors can tune in to their website and hear cutting edge shows on topics they might not normally hear on any other radio broadcasts.

New My Mission Posters Going Fast
