Just as at Ground Zero and at the Pentagon after 9-11, chiropractors have responded to offer help in the time of need. Chiropractors from the ICA and the ICAC (California) have begun organizing relief efforts to help those who are helping others. Thousands of firefighters and relief workers are currently engaged in fighting the fires in California. Their needs are many, and chiropractic care presents a welcome assistance. In an effort to add more new features to our website service, we have now included a live health and chiropractic radio show within our subscriber's websites. The new radio webcast show, "Highway 2 Health" features a variety of shows that air live three evenings per week. At other times, archives of the show are included so that viewers to NYK doctor's websites can listen to previously aired shows. This new feature keeps Now You Know websites at the cutting edge of Internet education. Your patients can click on your website and listen to a world wide radio webcast.

Each of these website features contains information that by itself would be impossible to duplicate. What you may not be aware of is that some web pages place programs in your computer that can actually spy on you. Some of these programs are harmless and only track your usage but some have the ability to transmit much more. Most of you have heard about "cookies" in your computer. Cookies are little bits of information that some websites send to your computer to make it recognizable when you return to that particular site. The programs we are speaking about here are much more than cookies and can potentially cause problems.

These potential dangerous programs are called "spy- or adbots". These are little modules that are responsible for the ads many programs display. But many of these modules also transmit information about your surfing behavior and more to the net. These modules can also slow down your computer when you are surfing the net.

There is a free program that you can download to remove these modules. The program is called "SpyBot Search & Destroy". SpyBot-S&D searches your hard drive for so-called spy- or adbots. When SpyBot-S&D finds such modules, it can remove them. Spybot can also clean program and Web usage tracks from your system. Modules chosen for removal can be sent directly to the included file shredder, ensuring complete elimination from your system. And for advanced users, it allows you to fix Registry inconsistencies related to adware or malicious program installations. The handy online update feature ensures that Spybot always has the most current and complete listing of adware, dialers, and other uninvited system residents.

I have been using this product myself and it seems to function well. When I first installed it and ran it I was completley surprised at the number of potentially harmful adbots that had gotten into my system. One of these was even causing ads to pop up on my computer even when I was not surfing the web. Spybot cleaned these problem programs from my computer.
