Donations and Students Flocking to Life In what should be no surprise for anyone, both students and money have seemed to follow Dr. Guy Riekeman to Life University. In the past several months, the music has stopped in the game of musical presidents with Dr Riekeman resigning from Palmer, Dr DeSpain being released from Life and Dr Riekeman then being announced as the new president of Life. Now that the shifting of chairs has stopped, the results are beginning to be felt. The first result of the changes was a student uprising at Palmer. This translated in rallies, protests, and a vote of no-confidence by the student and alumni who participated in an online vote taken on www.dc2be.com. Results are still posted on that site and show an overwhelming outrage for the loss of Riekeman. The next effect was a resurgence at Life. Life University was on the ropes. Even though many were putting on an optimistic face, the reality was that Life, which had lost it's CCE accreditation, then gained it back in court, was out of money and students. The results were that Life was in eminent danger of losing their regional accreditation with the Southern Associations of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Loss of SACS accreditation would have caused the school to close immediately. With the announcement of Riekeman as president, the fortune of Life has been dramatically turned around. Almost immediately, over 40 students transferred from Palmer to Life. This alone represents a huge boost for Life. The word also has emerged that scores more will be transferring at their breaks between quarters. In addition to the boost of students, money has also started to flow into Life to help with the immediate crunch needed for this year's budget. To date, over 2 million dollars has been pledged with more on the way. There is also a buzz about the Life Source meetings. Previously, these meetings looked like a small gathering of the most faithful. Now, with the addition of Riekeman, these meetings should take on a whole new dimension. All in all, Life U's future
looks bright. And for the first time in a long time, we can all say with
great confidence...

Why I Use Now You Know; by Dr Jay Handt Undoubtedly, the best way to keep your patients informed, educated, and up-to-date in their high-speed, ever-changing world is by incorporating a Now You Know website into your patient protocol! Now You Know has mastered the art of crunching all of this information into bite-sized, understandable pieces so you can benefit from your patients greater understanding of Chiropractic and its place in modern health and wellness care. Both you and I know that patient education is the cornerstone of any large referral practice. What better way to enhance your Report of Findings or orientation than by having your patients do what they do best . . . spend time on the web! My Now You Know website not only helps my patients learn about Chiropractic, but it gives them the tools to share Chiropractic and my office with their family and friends! They are actually proud that their Chiropractor is on the cutting edge of technology! They have the pleasure of showing off your office without ever leaving their home or office. In the past, most patients used to say, “If I could just get my friends to meet you and see the office, I know they’d start under care. BUT, they won’t come in.” Now, if I get this “Mohammed won’t come to the mountain,” reaction, we encourage our patient to “bring the mountain to Mohammed!” They introduce friends and family to their Chiropractor and The New York Chiropractic Life Center via my website! It’s definitely one of the best referral tools out there! It’s non-confrontational, highly visual, and totally accessible!
