Palmer
is Now Un "E-Z" (Riekeman Resigns)
Dr Guy Riekeman, (years ago known as "EZ" Riekeman) has resigned from Palmer. In a stunning development, Palmer Chancellor, Dr. Guy Riekeman (right) has submitted his resignation to the Palmer Board of Trustees. A release with the news was sent from Vickie Palmer, Chairman of the Palmer Board of Trustees and great granddaughter of DD Palmer. Dr. Riekeman has been
recognized by most as the leader who turned Palmer around and brought excitement
and students to the Palmer University System. Presently both the Davenport and
Florida campuses are at enrollment capacity. As expected, the students and
Alumni are both shocked and outraged. Reports of on-campus meetings turned
ugly, and frantic emails move throughout the chiropractic profession.
Speculation is that this resignation was forced upon Dr. Riekeman by forces within the Palmer Board, led by Vickie Palmer, (left). Earlier emails from sources within Palmer report on an attempt by such forces within the Palmer Board to remove Riekeman.
My Comments: Just as many of you, I find myself shaking my head concerning this move. I have been visiting Palmer since 1995. I remember the despair and feeling of hopelessness the students felt in the past. I then remember the excitement and momentum Guy brought to Palmer. I remember the new excitement brought to Lyceums, the flood of new Palmer students in the face of an over-all decline in chiropractic education enrollment. It seems to me that from every measure, Palmer was enjoying a level of success it has not seen in decades. Now suddenly, the Board decides to remove the visible author of their success. My initial reaction was, "What were they thinking?"
Those who are as stunned as I am can at least vent their feelings in an email to the Palmer Board of Trustees. Their email is board@palmer.edu .

Craig, Football Superstar, Coming to ICA Sports Symposium (Arnold Classic)
Roger Craig, four time football Pro-Bowler with the San Francisco 49ers, has agreed today to participate in the ICA's Sports Symposium with Arnold Schwarzenegger in Columbus Ohio. The event, this year held on March 5 - 7 promises to educate and entertain the hundreds of chiropractors already registered to attend.
In a phone conversation Monday, Craig told ICA executive director Ron Hendrickson that he was excited to participate in such an important event and he is pleased to support the ICA and the chiropractic profession.
One of the more exciting benefits of attending is that each ICA symposium registrant is able to pose with the world’s most famous chiropractic patient--global superstar Arnold Schwarzenegger, the featured speaker at ICA’s Symposium on Natural Fitness-- for a studio-style portrait photo. Bill Frank Forever Young Program Spread the Word of Chiropractic
Each Friday morning for the past several weeks, the Bill Frank Forever Young Show" has featured chiropractic as the main topic. The show airs at 7 AM Eastern time on the Discovery Channel Friday mornings.
The shows have featured well
known chiropractors such as Patrick Gentempo, Eric Plasker, and many others.
Each of the shows that has aired to date has covered some aspect of chiropractic
and has urged the viewers to visit their "Wellness Provider" which is a
chiropractor.
On each show a toll free number appears that allows the viewer to call in and then they are directed to a sponsoring chiropractor in their area. Becoming a "Wellness Provider" so that you are eligible to receive referrals requires that you become a sponsor of the show.
The ICA has endorsed the Bill Frank show and has urged chiropractors who wish to become a part of the process to join in and become a wellness provider for this show.
