CCE States to U.S. Department of Education that 12% of Chiropractors Are Unqualified

The CCE has told the US Department of Education that 12% of all DC's are unqualified. This statement leads to the question of public safety.  This statement from our own accrediting agency has the potential to be one of the most damaging statements to affect chiropractic in decades!

Life University Remains Accredited - Final CCE Decision Postponed

The CCE has postponed Life University's final accreditation and will revisit the issue again in July 2005. During this time Life remains fully accredited and will continue to work on "issues" that have been identified as needing attention.

A joint statement released by the CCE and Life reads as follows:

“The Commission on Accreditation recognizes Life University College of Chiropractic's commitment to be in compliance with CCE Standards and commends the faculty, staff and students of LUCC for their dedication and many accomplishments reported by the Site Team Visit in August-September 2004. Further reporting by LUCC will be provided to the COA in Spring 2005 with a tentative Status Review Meeting in July 2005. LUCC has held programmatic accredited status since 1985. Life's accredited status continues.”

ACA Gets Strike Three Call by US Supreme Court

The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that it would not consider the famous "Trigon" case in which the American Chiropractic Association sued a subsidiary of Indianapolis-based Anthem Inc. on a claim that the insurer conspired with doctors to limit coverage for chiropractic care.

This ruling in effect ends all practical chance for success in that suit and potentially set up a negative precedence against chiropractic. The ACA website noted, "On Nov. 8, 2004, the Supreme Court formally declined an appeal by the ACA and the Virginia Chiropractic Association (VCA), bringing an end to litigation that began nearly four years ago." 

Despite this setback the ACA website response also suggests that they will continue seeking legal remedies to this issue. Click here fore the ACA response in full.

Now You Know Email Newsletter Adds Additional Features

Bulk Mailing Feature:  Several months ago NYK added the ability for our subscribers to use the NYK newsletter mailing service to send their own bulk emails.  This allows you to create, and then mail your own announcements, newsletters and mailings to your entire patient email list.  This feature alone is worth the price of our entire service.
