Now You Know Redesigned ICA Website
Many new features have been added to an entirely new look. One of the new features is a “find-the-doctor” link that will allow the thousands of visitors to ICA’s website to find an ICA doctor and to then click on a link that will bring up a map or directions to that doctor’s office. Considering the number of visitors to ICA’s www.chiropractic.org website, this could translate into a substantial number of new patients going to ICA doctors. The ICA is just the latest in a growing number of association websites that we do for our profession. These include the Georgia Council of Chiropractic, the Association of New Jersey Chiropractors, Connecticut Chiropractic Council, Oregon Doctors Of Chiropractic, The Chiropractic Fellowship of Pennsylvania, Chiropractic Society of Texas, Virginia Society of Chiropractic, Palmetto State Chiropractic Association, South Carolina Chiropractic Association, International Chiropractors Association of Indiana, Federation of Straight Chiropractors and Organizations, New Beginnings, and the Southern Chiropractic Association. If you are interested in finding our how your chiropractic association can have Now You Know’s expertise for your website at no cost to you, just email us at nowyouknow@nowyouknow.net or call our toll free number. |

ICA
Requests All State Boards to Open Reciprocity The ICA has sent a letter to all Chiropractic State Boards asking them to open up their states and allow reciprocity for the doctors whose offices have been destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Presently, large numbers of chiropractors have been wiped out due to the disaster. In many cases the devastation is so great that it will be some time before they will ever be able to return to their area. ICA President Dr. John K Maltby, in his letter states, "The International Chiropractors Association (ICA) is requesting that every chiropractic state board initiate a program of temporary reciprocity for a one year period to allow displaced doctors of chiropractic to work as associates in facilities in other states. This will allow them to maintain some form of income and provide for their families while helping to ensure that they will be able to return to their home states and restart their practices in a year." The ICA letter uses the example of several major corporations such as Wal-Mart that have instituted programs allowing employees displaced by Katrina to immediately be employed at stores in the areas they have temporarily relocated to. This move not only helps the chiropractors in need but is designed to help the communities affected. Dr Maltby notes in the letter, "This initiative not only helps the doctors and their families affected by this crisis. But on an even larger scale, it helps the communities so devastated by this tragedy by acting to ensure that chiropractic care will once again be available in the areas." |

Health News Each month, we at Now You Know review hundreds of articles on health and chiropractic in order to find the few that we write up for our patient newsletter service. Unfortunately, there are always dozens of good health articles that do not make it into the NYK Patient newsletter that our subscriber's patients receive. This section of the Information Age will be the place where we list these articles and link to them.
