Is "DE" Still Around?

I travel around to a lot of seminars.  I wish I had a dollar (used to be a nickel but inflation set in) for every time I heard a doctor on a platform say something about getting their start at DE, or how DE changed their life.  However, the next inevitable question is, "Is DE still around?"  Well, the answer to that is, YES! 

Over the past several years, and with all the upheaval at Life University, DE (Dynamic Essentials, for those of you who may not have heard of it), has taken a back seat.  Numbers dwindled and many of the main-stay speakers stopped attending.  However, over the past year, there seems to be a return and resurgence going on. 

The basic format of the meetings is the same as it has been for decades, but some new faces, intermingled with some stalwarts have added new energy and (dare I say) "Life" back into these meetings.  Some of the new speakers include notables such as the world's highest volume practitioner, Dr. Rob Schiffman.  Also, some familiar faces have returned such as Dr. Jim Sigafoose, and even myself (after a long absence).  The numbers are not what they were a decade ago when a few thousand would jam themselves into a room to hear the speakers, but the numbers are growing again over the past several meetings. 

The one thing that has remained solid over the years is the heart of the meeting.  At the last meeting in July, the room of wide-eyed doctors and their families still laughed and cried as the lineup of chiropractors spilled their hearts out to the group they all refer to as "family".  Several of the doctors who had attended DE years ago made comments such as, "this felt like it did years ago." 

Maybe it's just persistence, or maybe it is the strength of what DE has stood for for decades, but Dr. Sid Williams seems to be making a comeback with DE.  The next meeting will be held in Atlanta on November 16-19, 2006.  For further information please see their website at www.lifede.com.

Now You Know Going to Congress?

Now You Know is going to the Congress.  But it's not the one you think it is.  We are attending our first meeting of the Congress of Chiropractic State Associations, (COCSA). We will be attending this meeting to unveil our new services intended for chiropractic organizations.  Over the years, we have been the largest provider of internet services for the Practicing Doctor of Chiropractic, but we are also the largest provider for chiropractic associations.

Seeing a need in the profession, we have responded and created specific websites and services for chiropractic associations. Straighten Up America is a free program designed for Doctors of Chiropractic to participate in.  They provide an array of tools so that doctors can help their patients become healthier as well as share with others in your practice and/or community.
