Three Chiropractors Thrown Out of AMA Headquarters
I've
been thrown out of better places, but none were as fun. THIS IS A TRUE
STORY! This past weekend, Dr. Lucas Matlock, Dr. Jeremy Hess, and myself
were thrown out of the AMA headquarters in Chicago IL.
We were attending a "Get The Big Idea" seminar by Dr Rob Schiffman in Chicago. We noticed that the building directly across from where the seminar was being held was the headquarters of the AMA. This was ironic in itself having such a hard-core principled seminar like Get The Big Idea, being just outside of the windows of the AMA offices.
Just prior to the Friday evening program Drs. Matlock, Hess and myself decided to go visit the AMA and see if we could get a tour. As we entered the building with a huge lobby, we approached an information booth that contained two security guards. I asked them where the entrance way was to the AMA offices (it is a huge lobby) and he said that they were around the corner of the wall.
He then abruptly asked me, "Do you have any business here?" I responded that we were doctors and were hoping to get a tour. To that he quipped, "There are no tours here, and they are closed." I asked if we could look at the directory behind us to which he only grunted.
Then, Dr. Matlock took out a camera to take a picture of the directory to show that we were there. With this, the security guard got even more indignant and told us in no uncertain terms that we could not take any pictures and they said, "In fact you have to leave right now!" Well, we left high five-ing each other and laughing our way out the door.
In my youth I may have been thrown out of a few establishments, but none made me feel so good. It's interesting to note the contrast. If you go to any chiropractic headquarters you will be welcome and treated with respect. When you go to the AMA headquarters, you get tossed out. Speaks volumes to me!

Chiropractic Under Attack in Connecticut
We
have all seen the recent smear campaign launched against chiropractic in
Connecticut. This smear campaign came in the form of billboards and buses.
