What Do Your Patients Read?
At Now You Know, we understand this problem clearly, and have always made it our top priority to bring current, relevant, and hard-hitting NEWS to our subscriber's patients through our newsletter and website content. Consumers of health care are much more sophisticated today. They want real news on chiropractic and health in general. They also want to know where that story came from, and how old it is. We have noted that when a newsletter with quality content is emailed out, patients who receive it will forward it on to others. This then causes website hits to increase, and more referrals are then made. Getting people who would not normally considered chiropractic, to start thinking about it in a positive way, is the whole idea! Over the past several months, the NYK newsletter has carried a variety of important health issues. Below is a list of just some of those issues that the patients of NYK doctors have received. Buried on the back pages of the newspapers, or in many cases only reported
outside the US, are the follow up stories about medical failures and massive
allopathic casualties.|
ICA Annual Fitness Event Again Features California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
A vigorous advocate of chiropractic care for people of all ages and holding an honorary chiropractic degree from Cleveland Chiropractic College, Governor Schwarzenegger personally spoke to the Symposium attendees about his own experience with chiropractic, crediting the care he received throughout the years for his success in bodybuilding and for his ability to maintain such a rigorous public service, travel and appearance schedule. Governor Schwarzenegger told the chiropractic audience: “As Governor, you have a chance every day to help people. This is what we have in common. We are friends of chiropractors because chiropractors are dealing with health, fitness, strength and energy. That’s what chiropractors are all about, helping people, to make them strong and fit and get their lives back together. Here we are now in our 16th year of partnership and I just wanted to tell you how proud we are of all of you, and how happy we are that we have joined together in this great program.” Governor Schwarzenegger also spoke about his own personal experience with chiropractic, telling the audience: “I have been the beneficiary of chiropractic for many years, and many of you know Dr. Franco Columbu, a great body builder and good friend. I watched him go through chiropractic college, studying hard to be a great chiropractor, and I know from personal experience what great care you take of people. Also, my whole family has had the benefit of chiropractors and we are all grateful for what you are able to do." Held annually in Columbus, Ohio in conjunction with the Arnold Fitness Festival, the ICA Natural Fitness Symposium focuses on the close relationship between fitness and health, and brings together the sport of bodybuilding and chiropractic science to educate all participants on the value of natural health through exercise. Through clinical presentations and lectures combined with practical demonstrations, the Symposium provides the latest information available on the development of optimum performance in sports and training on injury prevention in the context of chiropractic care. Chiropractic offers athletes in all sports and of all levels of ability a natural, drug-free way to enhance peak performance, prevent injury, and sustain a demanding training schedule. Chiropractic participation in the Arnold Schwarzenegger Fitness Weekend and Sports Festival highlights the positive and rapidly growing relationship between athletics, fitness and chiropractic. For
the sixteenth consecutive year, global superstar and now California
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was the highlight of the Symposium on
Natural Fitness organized by the International Chiropractors Association
(ICA) held February 29 to March 1, 2008 in Columbus, Ohio. Each year, this
chiropractic mega-event is held in conjunction with the Arnold Schwarzenegger
Fitness Weekend and Sports Festival. Known as "The Arnold" for short, this extravaganza is the biggest fitness festival in the
world with over 15,000 athletes competing in over 30 different sports
competitions, many of which are conducted at the Olympic level. |
Dr. Sid Williams Turns 80
Drs. Sid and Nell have been icons in the chiropractic profession for over 50 years. Although Dr. Sid's accomplishments are to numerous to mention here, the list is highlighted by the foundation of Life University, and the Dynamic Essentials (DE) meetings. Life University at one time boasted a DC student enrollment of over 3000 students. Presently, under the presidency of Dr. Guy Riekeman, Life has grown to around 1300 students in the DC program and, once again, challenges Palmer as the largest school of chiropractic in the world. The Dynamic Essential meetings have been a regular fixture in chiropractic for decades. Thousands of chiropractors have credited their success in practice to these meetings. At one time, these meetings would host over 2000 enthusiastic DCs, families, staff, and students. Today, the meetings are not quite as large in number, but the spirit and "Lasting Purpose" still remain. In his earlier years, Dr. Sid was an athlete at Georgia Tech and is a member of their Hall of Fame. If you follow college basketball, and you happen to see a Georgia Tech basketball game on TV, look at the front row courtside seats across from the GA Tech players bench and you will catch a glimpse of the William's enjoying the game.
