Philosophy on the Farm - Saturday, July 17th, 2010
Once
again we are hosting an unusual and exciting evening of
chiropractic philosophy, and fellowship. For those who
are old enough to remember Woodstock from the late 60s,
(if you are not old enough Google it), there was a quote
that said something like, "Its good to see half a
million people get together for three days of fun and
music, and have nothing but fun and music."
Well, while we don't
expect half a million, or three days, (my wife would
leave me), we are expecting a great crowd for three
hours of fun and philosophy!
This years speaker lineup
also promises to be extra special. We have two special
guest speakers and two main program speakers. The main
speakers are Dr. DD Humber, Dr. Gary Walsemann and Dr.
Sid Williams. This is a lineup of speakers that you
can't see at almost any other chiropractic event!

What is unique about this
event is that you can also see a variety of animals that
you may not have seen before. Where else can you have
the opportunity to feed a Galapagos tortoise? The
farm opens for this event at 6 PM and children are
welcome, (but must be supervised!) To read more about
what to expect at our farm, please read the next article
and the linked story.
This is an outdoor event.
This means you bring your own folding chairs, tables and
bug spray. For a complete list of what you should bring,
and how you should be prepared please visit the website
created for this event at
www.philosophyonthefarm.com.
My
Life Has Gone to the Dogs...
...and the horses, and the turtles, and the...
The International
Chiropractors Association recently ran a story on my
family's love of animals. The story appeared on the
front page of the recent issue of the ICA Review. This
edition also carried stories on animals and
chiropractic.
The ICA Review is a
membership benefit and therefore only goes to ICA
members. I have had a number of my friends and
fellow ICA members comment on the article.
I have also had a number
of my friends who are not ICA members (I think they
should be) ask me if they could have copies of the
article.
Since the ICA only prints
enough copies of the magazine for their members, there
are no additional hard copies of this magazine
available. However, I was able to get an electronic copy
of this article from the ICA in order to have it posted
on my clinic website.
For those who want to
read this article I have linked it into this newsletter.
You can either click on the thumbnail image above, or
just copy the following link and paste it into your

Preparing for the iPad Revolution
Are you one of the
million early adopters who have purchased an iPad so
far? If so then you are enjoying what is a great little
piece of technology with lots of applications. I got my
wife one of these and she is having a blast.
One of the main uses for
the iPad will be to surf the web. However, there is one
glaring difference most people will notice when surfing.
The iPad does not support Flash. Depending on which
story you read, Apple decided not to include the ability
to play Flash content on the iPad either for speed or
for proprietary reasons. In any case this means that
many websites Flash content does not show up on the
iPad.
YouTube and other big
websites have already adapted by having alternatives to
Flash that play just as well, or even better. In fact a
new standard is being developed that may just change the
way we all look at the web. In order to make sure that
people are not denied chiropractic content Now You Know
has adapted much of our content to be iPad compatible.
In an ongoing mission to
bring the best education material, best technology, and
best features to the chiropractic profession, Now You
Know will continue to update our services to meet the
changing technology world.
