Dr. Sid Williams Recovering from Stroke

As many of you already know, Dr. Sid Williams suffered a stroke on Christmas Eve. He is recovering and all signs are improving. Below are some of the updates that have been circulated. We have placed the highlights in this newsletter for easy access.

From "The Latest Stuff" by Dr, Gerry Clum on December 31st:
"Early on Christmas eve Dr. Sid Williams, founder of Life University and of Life Chiropractic College West, suffered a stroke as the result of a blockage in the middle cerebral artery. The obstruction was resolved and since that time Dr. Williams has been recovering. Initially his right-sided motor function and speech were impacted. The motor function is returning and it was reported that on December 27 he was able to shake hands, get out of bed and begin to walk with assistance."

"Another good day in Atlanta. Dr. Sid was able to eat and continues to say more words. He is considered stable and is ready for rehab."

Just returned from a productive day at the hospital. This afternoon Dr. Sid said several words clearly, said one simple sentence clearly, and used the walker to get up and sit in a chair. He sat in the chair for about two hours. As Dr. Nell was speaking close to his ear he reached up to straighten her collar. Actually the right hand was working better than the left during this amorous moment.
Thanks for the comments that are written each evening under the post...Dr. Nell looks forward to them each day. As you may recall these are printed each morning so that they can be read to Dr. Sid. This afternoon Dr. Sid took one of the lists, studied it and started turning the pages. Although he's still not out of the woods - your prayers and thoughts are making an impact.

Today was filled with testing, musical rooms, and equipment issues. The MRI results couldn't have been better; the infarct has been dissolved and there is no further hemorrhage. The feeding tube that was inserted on an emergency basis has been removed - finally - thank God.
Dr. Nell has been tuning him in and surrounding him with the Prayer for Protection written by James Dillet Freeman.

Dr. Sid was able to walk today with the assistance of a walker. He is also becoming proficient with sign language using his right hand; the chiropractic index finger is getting a work-out. He's not out of the woods yet but definitely moving in a good direction.
Dr. Nell has enjoyed the Facebook posts/comments written yesterday and each has been read to Dr. Sid. This will continue each day including the new posts/comments and phone messages.

Calling for your prayers and positive thoughts as Dr. Sid recovers from a stroke that occurred in the pre-dawn hours on Christmas Eve.
Shortly after midnight a blockage in the middle cerebral artery caused a deficit on the right side. The clot has since been dissolved and he continues to improve.
