Chiropractic Politics and the ICA

I am no stranger to politics.  I have been involved with Chiropractic politics for over 20 years.  I know many of you may have noticed that I have been doing a web site called www.icapride.com .  This site is a political contribution from me personally for two candidates for the Presidency and Vice Presidency of the ICA.  I would like to be clear and state that I am endorsing the candidacy of Dr. DD Humber and Dr. Maxine McMullen myself as an individual.  This endorsement should not be construed as an endorsement by our company, Now You Know Inc.

I am presently the outgoing Chairman of the Board for ICA.  As of the end of this election, I will no longer be an officer of ICA and will, for the first time in 20 years, be a regular dues-paying member.  I want the ICA to be in good leadership hands to help ensure the future of the principles of chiropractic.  For this reason I am personally endorsing the ticket of Dr. DD Humber for President of ICA and Dr. Maxine McMullen for Vice President.  I urge all ICA members to consider their candidacy and visit the site at www.icapride.com .

Internet growing by leaps and bytes

The above headline came from the Monday, February 19, 2001, issue of the Atlanta Journal Constitution.  In this article several interesting facts were disclosed.

Usage of the Internet as a consumer media has been around only since the late 1990s, and has now reached 60 percent of the population. By comparison, the telephone was in 35 percent of households by 1920, and did not reach 60 percent until 1950.  It took cell phones 20 years to reach 50% penetration of the population. This shows just how fast the Internet is growing as a regular part of our lives.

MDs Use the Web More at Home than in Office

In the February 12, 2001 issue of the American Medical News is an article on MD usage of the Internet.  Several statistics from this article are interesting.

So what do all these stats mean?  Well, first of all the medical profession is behind the chiropractic profession in usage of the Internet.  To me this is a good thing as we need to be using this media more than them to get our message out.  Secondly, they realize that inevitably they will have to use the Internet in their practice.  We at Now You Know have known this for several years and offer services to keep the chiropractic profession out in front.

Comical Find

Every so often we come across a web site with free stuff that will benefit our web site subscribers and others.  In this case Gary, our webmaster found a free site with a large number of comical animated pictures called ".gifs".  The address of the site is http://www.millan.net/anims/giffar.html. These small animations add life to web sites usually in a comical setting.  Enjoy this web site and use it as you see fit.
