ICA Endorses "Now You Know" Internet Services!

The International Chiropractors Association Board of Directors voted on Tuesday February 26, 2002 on a resolution endorsing Now You Know Internet Services.  The statement released by ICA stated:

"The Board of Directors of the International Chiropractors Association has voted to unanimously endorse Now You Know as the official Internet services company of the ICA. At the second session of ICA’s Mid-Year Board of Directors Meeting on February 26th, 2002, the ICA Board recognized the record of reliable service, quality product and record of strong chiropractic advocacy this company has established. This is especially important in light of the many Internet companies that have come forward to service the chiropractic profession and quickly disappeared from the scene. “Now You Know” does a great job for chiropractors and chiropractic organizations around the world” said ICA Board Member Dr. Michael McLean of Virginia Beach, Virginia. “I am excited about the prospects and glad ICA has the support of this growing company.” Now You Know is the largest chiropractic Internet company in the world and one of the fastest growing web-based health care communications organizations active today. Look for more news about this exciting new relationship in future ICA communications to its members and the chiropractic profession worldwide in the days to come."

Now You Know will also be maintaining the website for the ICA's new publication "The Chiropractic Choice" due out this coming month. You can see this new site at www.thechiropracticchoice.com. We at Now You Know are excited and honored by this endorsement. Over its 76 year history, this is only the fourth time the ICA has  rendered an endorsement.  We believe we have earned it through service to the profession and the ICA.  However, for those of you who may be a little on the skeptical side, let me say that yes, I am on the ICA Board, yes I am Board Chairman but NO I did not participate as a Board member or vote on this issue during the time the ICA Board was dealing with this endorsement 

Now You Know Adds Toll Free 800 Number

In an effort to be more accessible to serve the chiropractic profession, Now You Know has added a toll free 800 number.  To make it easy to remember our number says Now-You-Know-You-Yes!  The actual number is 1-800- NYK-U-YES, or in easy number format the number is 1-800-695-8937.

As we have continued to grow we have continued to add people and services to serve our subscribers. Chiropractic Profession Responds to Stroke Scare Campaign from Canada

It is absolutely amazing to me how  the deadliest profession in the world, the medical profession, can accuse the safest health care profession in the world of being dangerous.  But that is exactly what has been happening again with the latest round of untrue and biased press releases and statements out of Canada concerning chiropractic care and the risk of stroke.  In this recent attack some very vague statistics based on a non-descript study which no one can find accuses cervical "Manipulation" by chiropractors as being unbelievably dangerous statistically.  The numbers are so out of hand that if true we would be stacking up the bodies in every chiropractic office.

We all realize that if true our malpractice companies would have to charge us rates at many times the rates they do and that we would all be aware of many cases of this happening in our offices.  The simple truth is that this is bogus and does not happen anywhere near the frequency they are trying to smear us with.  Both the ICA and ACA have already responded to this with releases and news articles of our own. (On the lighter side of this issue) The good responses by the national associations were not enough for us.  Our crack team of reporters at Now You Know have dug up some pictures of the study being used to accuse chiropractic. Below is a picture of the procedure that the Canadian study was claiming was chiropractic care with a high risk of causing stroke.  Obviously this is a crude medical attempt to copy chiropractic.

Arnold Schwarzenegger; A Chiropractic Champion

Arnold Schwarzenegger was again the featured speaker at ICA's 10th Annual Symposium on Natural Fitness held February 22-23, 2002 in Columbus, Ohio.  Arnold spoke about his personal experience with chiropractic, crediting the care he received throughout the years for his success in bodybuilding and for his ability to maintain such a rigorous filmmaking schedule. His comments included the following:

"Chiropractic is about health and fitness and there is such a strong relationship between the two. This is why I'm so excited to have the chiropractors here from all over the world each year, because you represent exactly the same thing. Chiropractic is about health and fitness. Chiropractic is about natural, preventive health care.  It can help families be healthier and also spend time together doing something important to all their lives.  What we're trying to do is not just promote the sport of bodybuilding, but fitness and health. Fitness, for us, is everything in a naturally healthy lifestyle. So that's why it is so great for us to work together."
