In conjunction with the ICA and other state organizations, Dr. Larry Duboff and I will be teaching a one day (usually Thursdays) program designed for the doctor and the entire staff on these important and under-utilized areas.

Dr. Larry Duboff is a leading expert on presentation skills and marketing strategies for chiropractors. As a member of the prestigious National Speakers Association, he was formally trained and continues to work with top experts in the professional speaking industry. He is a graduate of the legendary Bill Gove Speech Workshop, which has trained many of the top speakers over the past 50 years. In addition to practicing chiropractic in South Florida, Dr. Duboff helps fellow DCs to create a steady flow of new patients through speaking.

Imagine the possibilities of adding speaking engagements to your calendar, then getting them all to sign up for your email newsletter. Imagine having your office set up where your web site becomes a major source of new patient referrals from your existing practice base. Well, you do not have to imagine when you attend this new and exciting program, "Marketing Without A Doubt."

The first two programs are presently scheduled in conjunction with the Florida Chiropractic Society and the ICA. These one day programs are scheduled to be on the Thursdays before the FCS conventions in St. Petersburg in June and in Palm Beach in August.. First of all, these laws are not referring to a canned food product. SPAM is actually unsolicited and unwanted email messages. The acronym was created by the Internet industry to mean Stupid Peoples Advertising Messages. Some people see this as a basic right of advertising and free speech while others see this as an invasion into the sanctity of their computer. For most of us they are the bothersome numbers of junk email that we have to spend time each day deleting.

Spam should not be confused with requested email newsletters or email messages to the people who you know. SPAM is sending unwanted messages to total strangers who you are just blanketing with advertising or promotions. We at Now You Know have always avoided the entry into this mostly unwanted area as it would annoy the public at large and be counterproductive to our cause of spreading chiropractic in a positive light. We encourage our subscribers to only add names to their newsletter lists of patients and other people they know or have had contact with. Even this mailing, the Info Age has always been by direct subscription or by chiropractors we know or have had contact with.

SPAM has gotten some people, including lawmakers very upset. A series of laws in various states have already been passed to stop this unwanted electronic junk mail. Additionally the numbers of Federal legislative efforts have been introduced to curb this on a nation wide basis. Even other countries have added regulations regarding SPAM. Below we have provided links to various listings of laws about SPAM. Please review these to see where this practice is illegal.

There are many groups in the Internet community that are quite militant about stopping SPAM. Even lawsuits have been won against this form of advertising. (see the last link above) It is our recommendation at Now You Know that you avoid sending unsolicited mass emails as well as avoid having unsolicited emails sent on your behalf. If someone is added to your list inadvertently, there should always be a mechanism for that person to be removed from your list. Mass emailing is a great tool to tell your patients and the community about chiropractic. Abusing this tool by SPAM, will only turn people off to our message.

Chiropractic Service will continue at ground zero through May 31st. The NY Chiropractic Council has been scheduling 24/7 Chiropractic care with doctors from all around the country volunteering their time to serve, and help the rescue workers, since 9/11. Although the EPA was to close down St. Paul's chapel on March 31st, there was so much protest, that the respect center will remain open and in operation until the end of the entire ground zero excavation which is projected to end on May 31st. We remain open due to popular demand. We don't like to brag, (like hell we don't) but we thought you might like to know the growing and distinguished list of websites we now host and maintain for the chiropractic profession. Recently Now You Know was honored by being endorsed by the ICA. This was very special to us in that in the 75 year history of the ICA they have only given 4 other endorsements!

In addition to the hundreds of chiropractic offices that are currently Now You Know subscribers, many different associations and groups also use Now You Know to do and host their web site. This list continues to grow, and we feel proud to be an integral part of so much in chiropractic. We invite you to review the list below and see some of the web sites we now handle.

We have just plain outgrown the space we were using in the back of my office, so we have moved "uptown." As of this past week Now You Know has moved our operations to an office on Marietta Square. With this new space and the additions of more personnel, we have geared up for the growing numbers of offices that are joining our NYK family. This new facility, we call NYK Square, will increase our capabilities and level of service. Additionally we are working to add additional features and services to keep chiropractic at the cutting edge of information technology.

Karl Parker seminars and NJ chiropractic forum in Edison, NJ May 2-5:Each year this event occurs in the Springtime. This year's program is being held at the Sheraton Edison Hotel just 14 miles from Newark airport . There will be over 33 speakers and 77 classes on success and chiropractic philosophy, practice management, staff training, how to bill and get paid, insurance course, Medicare, compliance, technique and license renewal. Also in New Jersey on April 25-28, 2002 is the next exciting New Beginnings program hosted by Dr. Jim Dubel. If you have not yet been to one of these programs you owe it to yourself to get to one. This April meeting promises to be one of the largest and most exciting. in addition to the great lineup of regular New Beginning speakers, there will be special appearances by Dr. Rob Schiffman, (the busiest solo practitioner in North America who sees over 2500 visits per week by himself!) and Dr. Guy Reikman president of Palmer College.

But that's not all. Also appearing will be Bill Esteb, Dr. Craig Wehrenberg, Dr. Pasquale Cerasoli, Dr. Karl Parker, Dr. BJ Harman, and myself.
