Now You Know Introduces "Flash: to Our Web Sites
All of us here at Now You Know
Internet services are excited about adding "Flash" to our web
sites. "What is Flash?", you ask. Flash is dynamic animation in web
sites. 
This new cutting edge technology allows us to animate our
subscribers websites. To view a sample of Flash in some of our sites
please check out our first two Flash sites at www.icapride.com
and www.fcschiro.com. These two sites will
be followed by many others as we add Flash pages to various parts of our web
network.
In the coming weeks we will be designing Flash front pages for subscribers sites so that those who are interested can take advantage of this new technology. Flash is a product of a company called Macromedia. The advantages to this process is that it allows animation to play while still downloading. In this way there is usually no delay in seeing a Flash page, called a movie. Additionally, Flash technology allows you to create animation with a very small file size, again saving time in downloading.
Presently Flash has become so popular that it has become the Internet standard for animation on the web. It is estimated that over 95% of all web browsers can view a Flash page. Additionally all new web browsers automatically come equipped to show Flash movies. So, watch in the coming weeks as you see more of our now You Know sites utilizing Flash and watch as our subscriber web sites really start to get some "Flash!"
Internet Marketing Tip
Want to add lots of names to
your email mailing list? Have a contest! That's right, a
contest. If you are looking to add email addresses to your 
roster
you should be asking all your patients for their email address. But what
about non-patients? Simple, have a drawing to give something away.
Have a free raffle and all that is needed to get a chance to win is for them to
subscribe to your free email newsletter. Who wouldn't do that?
Start by getting a prize most people would want. A DVD player, dinner for four at a local restaurant, or whatever you think would be appropriate. Then tell you patients and print up some flyers to display throughout your office. On your web site you should have a contest submission form that allows people to go to your web site and subscribe to your email newsletter and get a chance to win. The submission form sends you the subscription, and you keep a copy for the drawing. Its that simple.
I have personally started running such a contest and I already have gotten dozens of email subscriptions and entries. This is a simple easy way to have people looking at you web site and to get non-patients to sign up for your newsletter. Of course the winner must show up in person to claim the prize as I would not want someone from halfway around the would to win and I would have to spring for the postage to mail it. E-visits to the Doctor?
Now this may sound a bit
silly. I mean how can you have an online e-visit? 
Well
the medical profession is giving it a try. Several new programs are cropping
up that are encouraging Internet e-visits with doctors. According to a recent
USA Today article, a Chicago area health benefits company with one of the
largest networks of doctors in the country, "Health First Group", has
begun ''e-visits'' with physicians for patients with certain chronic illnesses,
such as diabetes, asthma and congestive heart failure. Patients can ''talk''
with their own doctors through a special Web page. Health First pays the doctor
$25 an e-visit; the patient pays nothing. Another program from Blue Shield
of California, in partnership with Healinx, has created a Web site, where
patients can get online consultations with their own doctors. The patient pays a
co-payment, as for a regular office visit, to the doctor.
But why should the medical profession stop there. I believe they can go even further down this trail. How about e-x-rays? Maybe they should try e-surgery? I'll bet the complication rate for that would be less. How about e-proctology? (now there's a visual you didn't need.) I might suggest e-gynecology, but some web site has probably tried that one.
We at Now You Know do not intend to have the chiropractic profession be left behind. We are working feverishly on coming up with "e-adjustments". Our plan is to have the patient go to your web site, put the mouse up to their neck and "click", no more subluxation! Presently we are still working out the details. When this service is ready we will let you know.
